“You helped us through the most devastating period of time we’ve ever had to endure.”

Hospice Care of California provides support to families who have lost loved ones, whether or not they utilized hospice services. We follow up with written resources, supportive phone calls, and referrals to community resources. Our bereavement, social service, and spiritual support teams work together to provide these services to those who need them.
Our quarterly Commemoration Service is a time for families and friends of patients who have passed away on service to join together in a time of remembrance. Through readings, candle lighting, and a time of sharing, we support each other and find comfort in a time of loss. In addition, Hospice Care of California provides a bereavement support group on Tuesday mornings in our Placentia office. Our support group, Healing Broken Hearts, runs in 8 week sessions and is open to the entire community.
Hospice Care of California’s social work staff is available to provide supportive counseling related to grief and loss. Limited time slots are available, but we serve as many individuals as possible. There is no fee for our counseling services. If we are unable to provide you with counseling services, we are happy to assist you with community counseling referrals.
If you work with a group or facility that has experienced a loss, we may be able to provide one-time group support. Please contact our Director of Social Services, Ruth Dooley, at (800) 889-3227 to discuss your needs and our ability to help.
